Jorge Frascara
Jorge Frascara is Professor Emeritus (University of Alberta); Honorary Professor, Emily Carr University; Fellow, Society of Graphic Designers of Canada and Society for the Science of Design of Japan; and Advisor to the Doctoral Program at the University IUAV of Venice. He has been an advisor to the ISO and to the Canadian Standards Council on graphic symbols, and has been President of Icograda (now ICO-D), Chairman of the Department of Art and Design at the University of Alberta, and Coordinator of its Visual Communication Design programme. His most recent book is Information Design as Principled Action (Common Ground, 2015). He published other five books in English, four in Spanish and more than 90 articles internationally. He is an advisor for three design journals, and has been a guest lecturer in 26 countries. He lives in Edmonton, Canada, and runs an information design consultancy with his wife, Guillermina Noël, focused on design for health and safety (www.frascara-noel.net).
