Jorge González del Pozo

Jorge González del Pozo is a full professor of Spanish at the University of Michigan-Dearborn, where he teaches Spanish Literature, Film, Culture and Language. In 2003 he joined the Hispanic Studies programme at the University of Kentucky, where he finished his dissertation in contemporary transatlantic literature and film in 2006. His work on Spanish contemporary literary criticism, Spanish film and history of Spanish film has appeared in a variety of academic journals, including Iberoamericana, Hispanic Studies Review, Hispanic Research Journal, Letras Hispanas, Bulletin of Spanish Studies Bulletin of Hispanic Studies, Ciberletras, Studies in Latin American Popular Culture or Romance Studies and Romance Quarterly, just to name a few. He has published and coordinated an edited volume about Pedro Almodóvar’s films published by La Nueva Literatura Hispánica (2013). He also authored Adicciones en la gran pantalla: Drogas ilegales en el cine español desde el fin del Franquismo hasta los inicios del s.XXI (2015), and is the editor/coordinator of Mitos del cine quinqui: Márgenes del cine y periferias de la sociedad (2016) and Castilla bajo mirada extraña (2016).
