José Carlos Neves

José Carlos Neves’s main research focus is on interaction design, a subject he continues to follow on in his artistic work and post-graduation studies. He holds a Ph.D. in communication studies and a master’s degree in multimedia communication systems with dissertations on interactive art and physical interface. Currently he is the co-director of the Fashion Design and Production bachelor’s course, director of the Lusófona University Prototyping Lab (Labtec) and manages subjects related to design and technologies at the Communication Sciences Department. As a lecturer, he teaches subjects in the areas of interaction design and digital arts. As a researcher he is currently involved in projects involving games and accessibility in the areas of deafness and intellectual disability. His artistic work, with regular participations on the InShadow: Lisbon Screen Dance Festival, has been a unique laboratory for experiments in interaction design.
