Joseph Alagha
Joseph Alagha is Professor of Political Science at Haigazian University, Beirut, Lebanon. He is the author of the refereed books: Hizbullah’s DNA and the Arab Spring, University of Calcutta Press & Knowledge World Publishers, 2012; Hizbullah’s Identity Construction, Amsterdam University Press (AUP), 2011; Hizbullah’s Documents, AUP, 2011; and The Shifts in Hizbullah’s Ideology, AUP, 2006. Alagha has extensively written on the democratization and liberalization processes in the Middle East and North Africa. He published widely on Islamic movements, Iran, Lebanon, Hizbullah, the Palestinian intifada, Taliban, al-Qa‘ida, jihadi Salafism, political mobilization and performing arts in the Middle East, and the integration debate in the Netherlands, in the Journal of Arabic and Islamic Studies, Journal of Palestine Studies, Shia Affairs Journal, Arab Studies Quarterly, Middle East Report, ORIENT, Der Islam, Studies on Islam, ISIM Review, Sharqiyyat: Journal of the Dutch Association for Middle Eastern and Islamic Studies, ZemZem, Internationale Spectator, Tijdschrift voor Religie, Recht en Beleid (TRRB)/Journal for Religion, Law and Policy, and International Affairs.
