Joseph Michael Sommers
Joseph Michael Sommers is a professor of English at Central Michigan University. He has written or edited numerous articles in addition to six books on comics studies, popular culture and children’s and young adult literature. He is an associate editor of the academic journal Children’s Literature Quarterly and a member of the editorial board of INKS: Journal of the Comics Studies Society. Presently, he is completing essay length projects on the work of Judy Blume, comics and graphic novels attuned specifically for children and young adults, and separate monographs on the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Gaiman’s cosmology across various iterations of The Sandman.
