Joseph Norman
Dr Joseph Norman is a creative/critical writer and lecturer based at Brunel University London. He researches genre fiction (especially Weird and Science Fiction), utopianism and extreme metal. Joseph’s Ph.D. research on Iain M. Banks’s ‘Culture’ series is due for publication by University of Liverpool Press in 2019. Other publications include ‘“Sounds which filled me with an indefinable dread”: The “Cthulhu” mythopoeia of H.P. Lovecraft in extreme metal’, in Critical Essays on H.P. Lovecraft, edited by David Simmons (Palgrave Macmillan, 2013) and ‘Sublime backwash: Drone as puncturing of the weird threshold’, in Sustain/Decay, edited by Owen Coggins and James Harris (Voidfront Press, 2017).
