Josephine F. Coleman
Dr Josephine F. Coleman is lecturer in media and public relations at Brunel University and communications officer for the MeCCSA Radio Studies Network. She spent her early career doing promotions and public relations for independent radio, volunteering as a producer and presenter at community stations in the United Kingdom and the United States, and newsreading and presenting on BBC local radio. She has completed a practice-based Ph.D. on producing community radio, entitled ‘Talk of the town’. Her research interests and publications deal with audio production practices, local media and communities, promotional culture and public relations. Her first book was published in 2021 by Routledge in the Disruptions series on digital journalism: Digital Innovations and the Production of Local Content in Community Radio.
