Joy G. Bertling

Joy G. Bertling is an associate professor of art education at the University of Tennessee. Her research engages with critical place-based art education and other arts-based ecopedagogies including the ways in which they can intersect with data visualization practices. She has published articles in various peer-reviewed journals including Studies in Art Education, Art Education and Environmental Education Research. Recently, her book Art Education for a Sustainable Planet: Embracing Ecopedagogy in K-12 Classrooms was published with Teachers College Press (2023).
