Judith Torney-Purta
Judith Torney-Purta holds a Ph.D. in human development from the University of Chicago. She is a professor emerita of Human Development at the University of Maryland, College Park, USA and a member of the National Academy of Education. She has studied civic engagement and political socialization since the 1960s. Her current activities aim to enhance the role of findings from international large-scale civic assessments in the process of improving teaching and learning.
