Julián Díaz Sánchez
Julián Díaz Sánchez is a university professor at the University of Castilla-La Mancha. He is interested in the processes of canonization of works of art, criticism, artistic policies and the construction of art history. He is a researcher in the Puentes Creativos project Displacements, returns, dissidences and adhesions in contemporary Spanish art (CSIC) and is in the research group on historical and cultural contemporary studies (UCLM). He has collaborated on exhibition catalogues such as Bajo la bomba. El jazz de la guerra de imágenes transatlántica (2007), Los esquizos de Madrid (2009), Campo cerrado. Arte y poder en la posguerra española 1939–1953 (2016) and L’Art basque en resistence. GAUR, 1966 (2018) y Madrid, musa de las artes (2018). He is the author, among other works, of Políticas, poéticas y prácticas artísticas (Madrid, Catarata, 2009), La idea de arte abstracto en la España de Franco (Madrid, Cátedra, 2013), Pensar la historia del arte. Viejas y nuevas propuestas (Zaragoza, Presses of the University of Zaragoza, 2021) and Millares: escritos y entrevistas (Cuenca, Fundación Antonio Pérez, 2023) (in collaboration).
