Julie Samuels

Julie Samuels is an independent researcher with a background in performance, fine art and digital media, in both industry and the higher education sector. Whilst her primary research is in the transformation of adoption due to the Internet, she continues to develop her research network across a variety of disciplines including adoption, digital and social media technologies, gerontology and the arts. Julie is particularly interested in understanding not only how the adoption triad engages with technology but also how it continues to transform and profoundly changes their lives. She has presented her research both at home and internationally at conferences. Julie completed her Masters of Philosophy research degree at the University of Sussex in 2016. Julie is an adoptive parent and author of Adoption in the Digital Age: Opportunities and Challenges for the 21st Century (published by Palgrave Macmillan 2018).
