Juneko J. Robinson
Juneko J. Robinson is an independent scholar. She received her Ph.D. in philosophy from the University at Buffalo. Her dissertation ‘The body politic: An existential ontology of clothing, conformity and the politics of self-expression’ examines clothing and sartorial culture from the perspective of existentialism and provides an explanation for why clothing arose and how sartorial practices are inextricably tied to larger existential strategies of meaning-making, thereby challenging the commonly held view that dress and personal appearance are frivolous. She is the author of the forthcoming ‘The fabric of life: Technology, ideology and the environmental impact of clothing’ in Environmental Philosophy, Politics, and Policy (ed. J. Duerk), Lexington.
