Ka-Kin Cheuk

Ka-Kin Cheuk is the Annette and Hugh Gragg postdoctoral fellow in transnational Asian studies at the Chao Center for Asian Studies, Rice University. As a social and cultural anthropologist, he has conducted long-term ethnographic fieldwork on the Sikh diaspora in Hong Kong and Indian textile traders in China. His most recent research is a multi-site ethnographic study of the China–Netherlands flower trade and its implications for environmental ethics. He has published several articles and book chapters based on his research on Indians in China, including an article in The Cambridge Journal of Anthropology. Cheuk received his D.Phil. in anthropology from the University of Oxford.
