Kai Prins

Kai Prins is a Ph.D. candidate studying rhetoric, politics and culture in the Department of Communication Arts at the University of Wisconsin – Madison. With a feminist and queer orientation to rhetorical criticism, Kai studies the influence of economics and/on embodied gender performance in neo-liberal consumer culture. Their research interests include the marketing and advertising of social issues, the convergence of wellness and new media and non/gendered drag performance. They also study and use ‘masculinity’ as a mode of performance as the award-winning drag king known as Will X. Uly (pronounced ‘Will Actually’).
