KAREN BROWN

Karen Brown is senior lecturer in art history and museum and gallery studies at the University of St Andrews in Scotland, and director of the Museums, Galleries and Collections Institute. A former university curator of art, her current research and teaching interests take an ecomuseological approach to museums and heritage communities. She is coordinating an EC Horizon 2020 consortium research and publishing project on ‘Museums, Community and Sustainability in Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean’ (2016–20). She is a board member of the museology group of the International Council of Museums.
