Karol Jóźwiak

Karol Jóźwiak is assistant professor in the Culture Studies Department of the University of Lodz and visiting scholar at the University of Milan. His main research areas address different issues of European transnational functioning of art and cinema in relation to the questions of memory, writing history, identity and politics in the twentieth century. Currently, he supervises the research project titled ‘Sovietophilia in Post-Fascist Italian Film Culture’, funded by the Polish National Research Center, addressing the cinematic relations between Italy and Eastern European countries of the Soviet bloc. He has authored the book Koncepcja języka rzeczywistości Pier Paolo Pasoliniego (Polish Academy of Sciences Press, 2019) and co-authored, with Tomasz Ferenc and Andrzej Różycki, Zapisy pamięci: Historie Zofii Rydet (University of Lodz Press, 2020).
