Katherine Randazzo

Katherine Randazzo (she/her) is an English Ph.D. candidate, a writing centre tutor and an English literature instructor (T.A.) at The University of Iowa. Katherine’s research explores the connections between trauma studies, fandom and science fiction, with a heavy focus on anglophone fanfiction fandoms of anime and manga and cult television serials. She previously received her master’s in English literature from The University of Iowa en passant, and a bachelor’s in literature and media studies from The College of Wooster. Katherine is currently in the process of dissertating, with a goal of spring of 2025 for her doctoral defence. Katherine has presented about fandom studies and graphic narratives at conferences such as The Northeastern Pop Culture Association and The International Conference for the Fantastic in the Arts.
