Katja Fleischmann
Dr Katja Fleischmann is currently associate professor for visual communication design at the Queensland College of Art and Design, Griffith University, Australia. She is an academic and researcher with extensive knowledge of global and national issues driving the design profession. Her research centres around two often interlinking areas: the future of design education and the role of design in social and economic innovation. Associate Professor Fleischmann has published extensively in leading international journals and has co-authored the book Women on the Walls: Women as Subjects in Street Art around the World (with Robert H. Mann, 2022) which examines depictions of women artistically, politically, and culturally across continents. Her latest research interest centres on the transformative impact of generative artificial intelligence (AI) on the design profession and education.
