Kaustavi Sarkar
Dr. Kaustavi Sarkar, Assistant Professor in the Department of Dance at UNC Charlotte is an Indian dance-scholar and dance-artist presenting her scholarly and creative works on the global stage. Her research is in Practice as Research, Critical Cultural Studies, and Digital Humanities with publications in Performance Research Journal, Research in Dance Education, and Visual Inquiry. She is the Artistic Director of Kaustavi Movement Center, an India based organization for transnational dissemination of Odissi from feminist, queer, and critical lenses, and the director of the annual conference on Odissi dance called Sensate Technicities held at UNC Charlotte. She is working on Dance Technology Social Justice, currently in review by McFarland Publishers.
