Kay Sohini

Kay Sohini received her Ph.D. in English from Stony Brook University, where she drew her doctoral dissertation as a comic, which was supported by a grant from The Mellon Foundation and the American Council of Learned Societies. Her work focuses on how comics can be utilized by scholars and artists alike in healthcare justice, in pushing for climate action, in resisting disinformation, and in espousing an equitable future for all. Her work on comics has been published in The Nib, COVID Chronicles and Women Write about Comics, amongst others. She serves on the executive committee of the International Comic Art Forum, and on MLA’s Committee on the Status of Graduate Students in the Humanities. She is currently a presidential postdoctoral associate at Stony Brook University. Her first book, Unbelonging, is slated to be published by Penn State University Press’s trade imprint Graphic Mundi in Fall 2023.
