Kayla Cohen

Kayla Cohen completed her master’s in environment and development at the London School of Economics and Political Science in 2021, where she won the programme’s prize for best overall academic performance and was jointly awarded the prize for best dissertation. Prior to this, she studied natural sciences and arts and humanities at Minerva University. She has worked as a research assistant at the University of Manchester and as a research intern at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She was a researcher and creative contributor to the popular science book A World Without Soil: The Past, Present and Precarious Future Beneath Our Feet (2021), by Jo Handelsman, which won the Association of American Publishers’ 2022 Prose Award for the category of Government & Politics. Her articles on education and climate justice have featured in The Sunday Times, The Independent and It’s Freezing in LA!
