Keren Barzilay-Shechter

Keren Barzilay-Shechter, MA is an Israeli expressive therapist specializing in psychodrama. For more than fifteen years, she has worked with children, adolescents and adults in different settings such as community clinics, schools and mental institutions. She is currently a doctoral candidate in expressive therapy where she is researching the role of the defense mechanisms in the Israeli psyche within the context of the Israeli–Palestinian conflict. She has special interest in the possible contribution of expressive therapy in enhancing and processing these defenses. Barzilay-Shechter is a faculty member at Lesley University.
