Kevin Carrico

Kevin Carrico is a lecturer in Chinese studies in the Department of International Studies, Modern Languages and Cultures at Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia. His research examines racial thought and nationalism in China and Hong Kong. He is the author of The Great Han: Race, Nationalism, and Tradition in China Today (2017) and the translator of Tsering Woeser’s Tibet on Fire: Self-Immolations against Chinese Rule (2016). He is currently pursuing an ethnographic study of the Hong Kong independence movement.
