Kevin Howley

Kevin Howley is professor of media studies at DePauw University. His research and teaching interests include the political economy of communication, cultural politics, and the sociology of media and popular culture. He is author of Community Media: People, Places, and Communication Technologies (Cambridge University Press, 2005) and editor of Understanding Community Media (Sage, 2010) and Media Interventions (Peter Lang, 2013). His publications include articles in the Journal of Radio Studies, Journalism: Theory, Practice and Criticism, Social Movement Studies, and Television and New Media. Dr Howley’s latest book is Drones: Media Discourse and the Public Imagination (Peter Lang, 2018).
