Kevin Ouma
Kevin Ouma is an accomplished and visionary filmmaker, adept at crafting captivating narratives across diverse genres, with a proven track record in all aspects of filmmaking from pre-production and scripting to directing, cinematography and post-production. He holds a bachelor’s degree in film and theatre arts – Second Class Upper Division (2015–19 and a master’s degree in arts (film studies) from Kenyatta University (2020 to date). He was an intern (Technical Department) at Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (May 2019–July 2019) and a teaching assistant/part-time lecturer at Kenyatta University (September 2020–September 2022). He has a professional certificate in innovation leadership from the Young Innovation Leaders Programme (June – October 2022); Calestous Juma Executive Dialogue on Innovation and Emerging Technologies, African Union/NEPAD (July 2022) and Intellectual Property Rights, US Embassy in Nairobi (May 2023). He has been awarded Best Student Feature Film ‘JIJI’ at the Kalasha International Awards (December 2019), Kenya National Drama and Film Festivals (2019) and Lake International Pan African Film Festivals (2019) and Best Set Design Film ‘JIJI’ at the Kenya National Drama and Film Festivals (2019).
