Kiu-wai Chu is assistant professor in green humanities and Chinese studies at Nanyang Technological University. He earned his Ph.D. in comparative literature at the University of Hong Kong, and his previous degrees are from SOAS University of London and University of Cambridge. He was a visiting Fulbright scholar at the University of Idaho, and a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Zurich and Western Sydney University. His research focuses on ecocriticism, environmental humanities, contemporary cinema and visual art, specifically in Chinese and Southeast Asian contexts. His work has appeared in Transnational Ecocinema, Ecomedia: Key Issues, Journal of Chinese Cinemas, The Palgrave Handbook of Asian Cinema and elsewhere.
