Kristina Graour
Dr Kristina Graour received an MA in screenwriting in 2014, and a Ph.D. in film and television studies in 2019, both from the University of Cape Town. Her doctoral thesis, entitled ‘Story in progress: Considering new methods for the analysis of ongoing television series’, examined the structures of ongoing television narratives and developed new analytical tools for studying this form. She has taught film analysis, film history, as well as genre theory at the University of Cape Town. She is currently the coordinator of the advanced diploma in film production at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology, where she also teaches film criticism. Her research interests include the study of narrative forms that revolve around the tension between repetition and innovation, including television series, serialized film franchises, film and television adaptations and genre theory.
