Laia Manonelles Moner

Laia Manonelles Moner holds a Ph.D. in art history from the University of Barcelona. She is an associate professor at the University of Barcelona and she has taught contemporary Chinese art in the Master of Chinese studies at the University Pompeu Fabra of Barcelona (2010–11). In addition, she is a member of InterAsia, Interculturality in East Asia (Autonomous University of Barcelona), and a research associate in the Department of the History of Art and Archaeology, SOAS, from March 2012 until 2016. She realized interview series with Chinese women artists in the context of Casa Asia Scholarship Rui Clavijo (2009). She curated the exhibition Constructing China: Visions of a Transformation (2010) at the Institut d’Estudis Ilerdencs in Lleida. Laia Manonelles Moner is also the author of the books Arte experimental en China, conversaciones con artistas (Experimental Art in China, Conversations with Artists) (Edicions Bellaterra, 2011) and La construcción de la(s) historia(s) del arte contemporáneo en China: Conversaciones con comisarios, historiadores y críticos (The Constructions of Chinese Contemporary Art Histor(ies): Conversations with Curators, Historians and Art Critics) (Edicions Bellaterra, 2017).
