Larraitz Ariznabarreta

Larraitz Ariznabarreta graduated and obtained her doctorate at the University of Deusto, Bilbao. Before joining the Center for Basque Studies in 2019 she taught at Boise State University. Her fields of research deal with the analysis of various expressions of Basque culture and their relation with power structures. Larraitz is the author of the books Martin Ugalde: Cartografías de un discurso (Ekin, 2015) and Notes on Basque Culture: The Aftermath of Epics (CLAEH, 2019). She co-edited Memory and Emotion: (Basque) Women’s Stories. Constructing Meaning from Memory (CBS Press, 2022) (with Nere Lete) and Bertso Eskolak. Basque Improvisational Poetry Schools (CBS Press, 2023) (with Inaki Arrieta-Baro and Xabier Irujo).
