Laura J. Murray
A settler scholar born in North Bay, Ontario, Laura J. Murray is Professor of English and Cultural Studies at Queen’s University. Her recent research concerns the Indigenous and treaty histories of Southeastern Ontario, and the working class and environmental histories of Kingston, Ontario. A co-lead of the interdisciplinary SSHRC-funded Belle Park Project, she has been developing community-engaged programs and research concerning the complexities of this place once a wetland, then a landfill, and now a park. This is her first published poetry.
