Laura Maye

Laura Maye is a lecturer in human–computer interaction at the Computer Science Department at University College Cork, Ireland. She is a human-centred researcher, interested in how people and communities utilize, adopt and shape interactive technology in professional and everyday contexts. She obtained her Ph.D. at the University of Limerick, Ireland, in January 2017. She has over five years’ experience applying qualitative research methodologies, including ethnography, co-design and action research. She has extensive experience collaborating with communities, particularly cultural heritage communities and investigating implications that emerging digital technologies hold for professional communities within the heritage domain. She has volunteered for over four years at The Hunt Museum in Limerick, Ireland, and collaborated with other museums across the Netherlands and Italy. She also holds experience working with communities in healthcare contexts.
