Laura Miranda Gonzalez
Laura Miranda is a full-time lecturer at the Universidad de Oviedo (Spain). Her research focuses on Spanish film music and its dialogues with Latin America. She is the author of Canciones en el cine español de autarquía (‘Songs in Spanish Autarkic period’) (Shangrilá, 2018), has edited the Routledge Handbook to Spanish Film Music (Routledge, 2025) and is currently working on her new book, Spanish Film Music, 1939–1950: Music and Image in the Autarkic Period (Routledge, forthcoming). She was visiting researcher at the University of Liverpool (FPI scholarship, Spanish Ministry of Science and Education, 2009), Santander Iberoamérica visiting scholar at the Universidad de Buenos Aires (2016) and Fulbright visiting scholar at the University of California Riverside (2022). She is also the co-director of the International Conference on Cinema and Identities CICI, which takes place in Oviedo.
