Laura Ray
Laura Ray has held multiple roles at the Old Dominion University English Language Center (ODU ELC) in Norfolk, Virginia, United States, since 2009, dedicating her career to supporting multilingual English learners from over sixty countries. She serves as interim director of the ODU ELC. Laura holds a BS in wildlife biology from the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry and an MA in applied linguistics, with emphases in sociolinguistics and teaching English to speakers of other languages, from ODU. She is also pursuing an EdS in educational leadership at ODU. Her research interests include multilingual student success in higher education, with a focus on immigrant and refugee student advocacy and achievement.
