Laura Shannon

Laura Shannon has researched and taught traditional dances for over 30 years, and is seen as one of the ‘grandmothers’ of the worldwide Sacred/Circle Dance movement. Through extensive field research, Laura has pioneered a new understanding of women’s ritual dances as tools for inner development. She holds degrees in Intercultural Studies and Dance Movement Therapy, teaches in more than twenty countries, and has published articles in many languages. Laura divides her time between the Findhorn ecological community in Scotland and a small village in Greece, and is currently pursuing postgraduate studies at Canterbury Christ Church University in Kent, England.
