Laura Yilmaz
Laura Yilmaz is an educator, animator and art director specializing in 2D motion design and hybrid media work. She has collaborated with a number of the most prestigious animation and motion design studios in her former home of Los Angeles, where she was an art director and head of 2D animation at Buck. Her experimental shorts have screened at many prominent festivals around the world, including Animafest Zagreb, Ann Arbor Film Festival, Toronto Animation Arts Festival International and Black Maria Film Festival, as well as garnering multiple Vimeo Staff Picks. She is also an avid tinkerer in the experimental narrative games space, as an alumna of the Sundance Institute’s New Frontier Story Lab and Stugan, an independent games accelerator in Sweden. She is currently a senior lecturer of animation and visual effects at Victoria University of Wellington’s School of Design Innovation.
