Lee Barron

Lee Barron is an associate professor in the School of Design at Northumbria University and teaches in the areas of fashion, branding, and design cultures, practices and technologies. He has published in journals such as Fashion Practice, Gothic Studies, Celebrity Studies, Popular Music History, the European Journal of Cultural Studies and the Journal of Modern Craft in addition to contributing chapters to several edited collections. He is also the author of the books Social Theory in Popular Culture (Palgrave Macmillan, 2013), Celebrity Cultures: An Introduction (Sage Publications, 2015), Tattoo Culture: Theory and Contemporary Contexts (Rowman & Littlefield, 2017), Tattoos and Popular Culture: Cultural Representations in Ink (Emerald, 2020) and AI and Popular Culture (Emerald, 2023).
