Lee McGowan
Dr Lee McGowan is a researcher, writer and teacher. His primary research interests are critical football studies, creative writing and digital narratives. He is a senior lecturer in creative writing at the University of the Sunshine Coast. He recently published the monograph Football Fiction: A History (Routledge, 2020) and co-authored the book, Never Say Die: the Hundred-Year Overnight Success of Australian Women’s Football (NewSouth, 2019). Lee has also published traditional and non-traditional research outputs, fiction and non-fiction. His current research project is a living history, with the ball at Her feet. Funded by Football Queensland, his former employer Queensland University of Technology, and Brisbane City Council, the website chronicles the history of women’s football in Queensland.
