Lena Foote
Lena Foote just recently graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a degree in Media Studies and a minor in Gender and Women’s Studies. It was not until she interned at the Walt Disney World Company in Orlando, Florida that she fully discovered what she wanted to do as her career. While interning, she learned about Disney’s first movie starring an African American princess, The Princess and the Frog, and she became more interested in how African American girls were going to be affected by this movie and the media in general. She intends to attend graduate school and earn her Ph.D. Her ultimate goal is to become an accomplished professor, author, consultant, and overall “(black) popular culture expert.”
