Leo J. Fahey

Leo J. Fahey, a product of The New School Media Studies Master’s Program and New York University’s Doctoral Program in Media Ecology, began in education as a communication arts university instructor in 1980. In 1991, he shifted gears and became a high school social studies teacher. In 1999, he moved to democratic education school development, advising alternative schools in Texas and Massachusetts on democratic school structure. He joined a school start-up group in New York City in 2003, which developed The Brooklyn Free School. Currently, he is teaching Communication Arts at Molloy College, Rockville Center, New York, and developing an innovative model of Democratic Schooling for Twice-Exceptional Children.
