León Staines-Díaz
León Staines-Díaz obtained a Ph.D. from The University of Texas at Austin, in the United States, studying community and regional planning. Originally from Monterrey, México, he graduated as an architect in 2007 and holds a Master of Science degree in urban affairs from the Autonomous University of Nuevo Leon, in Mexico. Focused on Latin America, his research centres around spatial justice and community-led participatory processes to improve informal communities. His photographs of these informal communities are featured in this article.
