Lhoussain Simour

Lhoussain Simour is an associate professor of English and cultural studies at Hassan II University of Casablanca (Morocco). He is also a senior research associate at the University of Gibraltar (United Kingdom). His research interests span several topics within cultural studies, including colonial discourse analysis, postcolonial Moroccan literature, Moroccan cinema, cultural festivals, travel literature, performance studies, popular music and culture, and media studies. He has written on these issues in various international journals, and he is the author of the following monographs: Recollecting History beyond Borders: Captives, Acrobats, Dancers and the Moroccan-American Narrative of Encounters (Cambridge Publishing Scholars, 2014); Larbi Batma, Nass el Ghiwane and Postcolonial Music in Morocco (McFarland Publishers, 2016) and The Construction of Marginalities and Narrative Imaginary in Mohamed Zafzaf’s Texts: The Postcolony in Secrets and Intimacies (Lexington Books and Rowman & Littlefield Publishing, 2022).
