Linda Rang
Linda Rang grew up and currently resides in Orange County, California. Linda is a graduate student at Azusa Pacific University. She received her BA degree in English from California State University, Fullerton (CSUF). After working in the business setting for a few years, she returned to CSUF to acquire her multiple teaching credential. She has just completed 23 years teaching in the primary grades at Dysinger Elementary School, in Buena Park, California. She has always been interested in teaching art to young children. She has seen how children gravitate to art and it is something they all can be successful in doing. Among other things, it aids in their creativity, cognitive development and engagement. Raising her disabled son, Ryan, taught her that everybody can reach their dreams. Suffering from a severe neuromuscular disease, Duchenne muscular dystrophy, he achieved so much in his 25 years of life. Among his accomplishments was that of an artist. Painting more than sixty canvases of places he travelled and cultural experiences, he sold his paintings to donate to a muscular dystrophy charity. He did this all with hands too weak to feed himself and being a wheelchair user. Ryan inspired her to return to school to obtain a master’s in art education at Azusa Pacific University. Sadly, he succumbed to his disease in January 2023. Linda wants to continue her son’s legacy, and dedicate her life to teaching others about the joy of art in Ryan’s name.
