Lindsey R. Barr

Lindsey R. Barr (she/her) is a professorial lecturer at American University where she teaches courses in theatre and arts management. Her research centres on the representation of madness in the contemporary American musical as it intersects with race and gender. She has published in The Routledge Companion to Musical Theatre, Studies in Musical Theatre (2022), (M)Other Perspectives (2023) and the Dramaturgy of Sex on Stage (2024), among others. As a professional dramaturg, she has worked throughout Washington, DC and Baltimore with institutions like the National Theatre, Baltimore Center Stage, Everyman Theatre and the Capital Fringe Festival.
