Lisette Johnston

Dr Lisette Johnston is the planning editor for BBC World News TV, and has been a journalist for fourteen years, the last six with the BBC as a reporter, producer and assistant editor. She received her Ph.D. from City University in 2015 for her research which focused on how the BBC used user-generated content (UGC) to cover the Syria conflict and how it has affected journalistic practices. She has had papers published in Digital Journalism and Journalism Practice, and contributed chapters to Media and the Margins and The Television Handbook.
