Lisi Estaras

Lisi Estaras is a choreographer and performer whose work focuses on the connection between physicality, thoughts, emotions and language. Recently, she has developed a keen focus on exploring the dynamics of ageing bodies within the context of performance. Lisi started to dance in Cordoba, Argentina. At the age of 19, she left Argentina to study at the Rubin Academy of Music and Dance in Jerusalem. She joined the renowned Batsheva Dance Company in Tel Aviv immediately after her graduation. Following five enriching years in Israel, Lisi moved to Europe and embarked on her professional career with Les Ballets C de la B in 1997. Since 2017, Lisi has co-directed her own company, MonkeyMind Company, in collaboration with Nicole Petit. During the 2021–22 season, Lisi embarked on a research project at the AP Hogeschool in Antwerp, focusing on the intersection of Art Brut, dance, and disabilities, dance and disabilities, further reflecting her commitment to innovative and inclusive artistic exploration.
