LIZ MELLOR
Liz Mellor (Ph.D.) is a reader in Music and Applied Arts in the Faculty of Arts, York St John University, England, UK. Liz has extensive experience of teaching music in schools and coordinating the music curriculum from 3 to 18 years. She has trained teachers as part of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in higher education, including those in the Faculty of Education, University of Cambridge. She currently lectures on the 'Community Music' and 'Music in Education' modules at York St John University. Her research interests include aesthetic perception, composition, creativity, collaboration, singing and health and well-being, group process, and a reflexive research approach in music education. Currently, Liz supports music activities in her local NHS Hospital and is integrating her music education research with her training in Gestalt psychotherapy. She directs an all-female singing group within the university and welcomes participants across the university community.
