Liza Schuster
Liza Schuster is a reader in sociology, working on forced migration, and in particular forced return to Afghanistan. She has spent most of the past decade in Afghanistan and, together with Afghan colleagues, is writing up a recently completed project that examined the hopes, fears and plans of Afghan families; the representation of migration in Afghan oral culture and the development of migration policy in Afghanistan. She is also working with the South Asian Network on Development and Displacement, which works with displacement-affected communities in Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
