Lizzie Rogers
Dr Lizzie Rogers is an historian who specializes in women, reading, collecting and historic houses in the eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries and their depiction in popular culture. Her Ph.D. was conferred by the University of Hull, and she is a freelance writer and researcher, encompassing roles from lecturing to cataloguing antiques to co-curating women’s history tours. Her research has appeared in both academic and popular presses, from a chapter in Arlene Leis and Kacie Wills’s edited collection Women and the Art and Science of Collecting in Eighteenth-Century Europe (Oxford University Press, 2020) to consulting for ELLE magazine on the real history behind Bridgerton, and writing on Jane Austen’s Persuasion for BBC History Extra.
