Lizzy Le Quesne

Lizzy Le Quesne is an independent dance artist and certified teacher of SRT. She teaches SRT to professional dancers and at conservatoires and academies internationally, as well as in the wider community and in contexts of health and wellbeing. Trained in ballet, fine art, contemporary dance, and extensively in a range of somatic practices, Lizzy works primarily with spatial awareness and embodied freedom, understanding the physical and energetic self as a vital presence in our world. Her performances, installation and screen works – embracing dance, text and photography – are presented in theatres, galleries, private and public spaces. She performs with artists including Dog Kennel Hill Project, Michael Klien, Rosemary Lee, Florence Peake, Ricochet Dance Productions – Wally Cardona, Jan Pusch – Carolyn Roy, Tino Sehgal, Susanna Szperling and many others. Lizzy’s writing on art, dance, embodiment and somatics is widely published in arts magazines, academic journals and books. She has authored chapters in Attending to Movement (eds Whatley, Garret Brown and Alexander, Triarchy Press 2015), and in the upcoming first book on Skinner Releasing Technique (ed. Manny Emslie, Triarchy Press 2018).
