Lorena Best Urday
Lorena Best Urday has a master’s degree in social memory from Federal University of the State of Rio de Janeiro (UNIRIO), Brazil. She coordinates with Verónica Zela, the programme ‘Cine en la Escuela’ at the Casa de la Literatura Peruana. She teaches at the Faculty of Audiovisual and Interactive Media of the UPC and is a member of the Transcinema International Film Festival team and tutor of the Transfrontera school. She has coordinated the Film Workshop of the Juvenile Center of Lima, and manages the project ‘Message in the Bottle’ of audio-visuals for juvenile centres in Peru. She co-directed with Robinson Diaz the feature film Just about to Take Off and directed The Readings (2015). She co-directs with Sara Guerrero the documentary project You Again Miss?, and is the director of An Elegant Film, currently in its final production stages, and of the short film Silence We Are in the Air. She participates in the preservation project of the audio-visual work of artist Juan Javier Salazar.
